Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Update on Coronavirus Response April 1, 2020 To Our Community Members and Partners, I would first like to give a heartfelt note of thanks to those members of our community who have reached out offering support to RRCS in the past couple of weeks. Your offers are genuinely appreciated. I would also like to publicly acknowledge the staff at RRCS for their efforts during this time. Like all of us, they are trying to balance the needs of those we support, their families and themselves during this time. It is an unprecedented time, but they continue to come to work each day as they know the people we support rely upon them. Their commitment is not going unnoticed and their creativity in meeting the needs of our community is amazing. For example, this week, even though our Senior Centers are closed, we will deliver over 1000 free meals to our community members. Many of these people are Seniors that have been identified as the most at risk. This is a complete team effort we are all very proud of. At this time, RRCS has taken the following actions to protect people’s health and safety, and mitigate transmission of the virus: Moved to predominantly telehealth for outpatient, case management, and medical services Closed all day programs Restricted residential programs from community outings/community engagement Paused all community-based services Closed all public meetings Moved to a largely mobile/telework workforce. While we have made some changes to our services, please know RRCS will remain open and serving those members of our community as long as it is safe to do. The manner the services are being delivered may look different, but they will continue to be provided. Additionally, there are no plans to lay off, furlough, cut hours, or reduce any staff positions within the agency. As always, I remain confident in RRCS’ ability to meet these challenges and support those community members who need us. Thank you and take care, Jim LaGraffe Executive Director Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services RAPID ACCESS Mental Health & Substance Use Outpatient Services Rapid Access provides same-day access to outpatient mental health and substance use services where individuals can attend walk-in intake times to obtain a clinical assessment used in determining the type and frequency of services most likely to meet their needs. Services are delivered at our community clinics in Culpeper and Fauquier Counties and insurance is accepted. For more information about services provided, click HERE .
